We continue to prayerfully consider how to navigate amid the COVID-19 crisis. Our “live studio audience” at the church tomorrow should be below the “10 people in a room” max that the state has put forth.

At the men’s Bible study this morning (where the 5 of us observed the social distancing rules) we talked a lot about being strong and courageous in the face of difficult times. As you lean in to our Lord in these days, take a minute to look up those verses (and the surrounding context) that talk about being strong and courageous. Let God’s word remind and reassure you that He is in control and never surprised.

Remember: look into Jesus face, don’t look at the waves.

Scott Alexander shared today about God’s plan for us. He brought a solid Biblical perspective on all that’s been happening amid the COVID-19 crisis. Here’s the link

Let’s continue to seek God as He uses all this to work in us and make us more like Him.

After spending time asking God to help us decide how to proceed in light of the COVID-19 situation, we have made the following decisions;

We will continue to have all services at the scheduled times and locations. That includes the Fellowship at the Perkins’ house this coming Sunday afternoon. I am confident that this will keep us well under the 25 person/room max required by the state, and probably right around the 10 person rule suggested by the President.

In order to accommodate those who decide to stay home, we will be posting the sermon(s) here on the website. This is something we’ve been working towards and the current situation has served to speed that process.

As I’ve worked to get audio and or video recording capabilities set up, I have done some research, and today purchased a camcorder and other related equipment. Please pray that I can figure it all out and that it goes smoothly.

I really don’t want to let this virus slow what God has begun to do in the Upper Room family. And I especially don’t want us to miss out on hearing God’s word preached! It’s true that there are lots of quality sermons available on line and by podcast, but we want to hear exactly what He is speaking to us as a family.

I am going to attempt to send everyone an email invite asking you to “follow” these blog posts. If you choose to, and if it works as I think it should, you will get an email containing each new post.

Finally, please seek Him and stay in His word. It’s amazing to me how fast I lose perspective when I neglect looking to God and listen to the noise of the world. I am excited to see what God will do with all this. To Him be the glory forever and ever.

Well, as things stand (for the moment) in this ever changing environment, groups of 25 or less are still permitted to meet in Massachusetts. (That makes the Upper Room the perfect sized church!) With that in mind, we will continue to meet for Sunday morning service and for all weekly Bible studies.

I would encourage anyone who has a concern and feels more comfortable staying home to do so. We are working hard this week to begin getting the weekly sermons posted (here).

I will also be posting any updates/ changes here on our website.

Remember, God has not given us a spirit of fear. Please let all this push you to seek Him. And also, be careful not to fill your mind with News Media and Social Media.

Hebrews 13:8 reminds us that God is the same yesterday today and forever. He is never surprised.

This is a test posting to the Church website blog. We will attempt to begin posting audio fioes of the weekly sermons starting next week.
